Local Missions

Due West offers many ways to get involved to meet the needs within our church family. Each year we church members gather for our Great Day of Service in which we participate in service throughout the church and within the community. We also have a wonderful LifeCare Ministry who offer support in many areas for families in crisis.
Take a moment to see the many ways you can become involved within our church. We would love to have you join us.
Hey Missionaries! Our next outreach project will be collecting and building Back to School Kits. We have a goal of 200 backpacks filled with supplies. We hope to reach our goal by Friday, August 7 in order to deliver supplies the week of August 10. Thank you all for helping make this possible.
Prayer Walk
 Saturday, August 1st at 10am
Please meet us at the electronic sign on Due West Road in front of Building C. We will pray for our schools. From Due West, we will have a list of local schools and those who are willing will go pray for those schools in the schools parking lot. If you have questions, please email annmann@duewest.org
Thank you to the many people who came out to be a part of a wonderful Great Day of Service on October 20! Watch here for dates for the next GDS!
LifeCare Ministry is devoted to helping provide our church family and community with a variety of care outreach.
If you're looking for a local mission volunteer opportunity, our church is looking for more volunteers to help out with Shady Grove Nursing Home! We visit this nursing home the third Sunday of every month to provide drinks, dessert, and Bible Study. There are also opportunities to serve with activities during the week and to bless them during Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for their big Thanksgiving Feast as well as Secret Santa.
Baskets of Blessings
For those recuperating from hospitalization or illness.  Baskets for children or adults are filled with puzzle books, devotions, etc.

Provides light refreshments for Due West UMC funerals.

Cancer Binders
The binders are used to keep paperwork and documents organized while patient is undergoing treatment.

Church Food Pantry
Many families in our community are faced with the very real issue of food insecurity.  For years our church has been on the front lines helping families with this issue by providing bags of shelf- stable and nutritious food through our Food Pantry Ministry.  Each recipient receives two bags of groceries worth approximately $50.00 when sourced at local grocery stores.  This provides a family of 4 with approximately 35 individual meals!  If your Sunday School Class, small group, book club, Scout troop, etc. would like to collect items and build bags to support this vital community-wide mission, please let our mission team know.  Email Mark Hellman with questions.
Flower Ministry
Prepare Sunday’s alter flowers in smaller containers and deliver to those who need encouragement due to being shut-in, illness or death of a family member.

Helping Hands
Provides yard maintenance, small repairs around the house and carpentry needs.

Nursing Home Ministry
We work with Shady Grove Manor, an assisted living facility in Kennesaw.  We also have a Bingo Ministry at Ross Memorial Nursing Home on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 2:30-4:00 pm.

Prayer Cards
Send cards of encouragement and pray for those on our church prayer list.
