cfa-logo-2.jpgDue West Center for the Arts is a ministry of Due West United Methodist Church that strives to provide excellent instruction through both private music lessons, Kindermusik, Dance, Art & Theatre classes to church and community members alike.

Our teachers love what they do and are qualified and competent to teach in their individual areas of expertise.  They emphasize Christian principles, encouraging students to work hard and do their best in all things. 

All of our teachers must complete Safe Sanctuaries training each year as directed by the United Methodist Church Conference.

Kindermusik Classes for Young Children*   (15 months - 3 years)

Monthly Classes

Mondays at 9:15 am (Ages 0-2) & 10:15 am (Ages 2-3)

Thursdays at 9:15 am (Ages 0-2) & 10:15 am (Ages 2-3)

  • Parent or Caregiver must attend also.
  • Only $55 per month
  • Includes online materials!

Full Semester After-School Class

 Tuesdays from 1:00-1:45 pm (Ages 4-6)

  • We pick up from Due West UMC Preschool
  • Classes run from January 9-May 1
  • Cost is $250 total
  • Includes home materials

Four children are needed to make a class.

Due West Children’s Theatre 2017-2018 Classes

Musical Theatre Production Class (3rd-8th Grades)

This class is all about PERFORMANCE! We will be working up to the full production of “The Wizard of Oz”.

Mondays, 5:30-8:00 pm (short dinner break during class)

Private & Semi-Private Dance Lessons

Need that extra push to hone your craft?  Try private lessons with in a private one-on-one setting or with only a few other students to really help improve your dance skills.  We will work on the very basics or push you to do harder things. Working in a private setting will help set the pace for each individual student.

Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays ~ various times available

Spirit of Dance at Due West

Are you trying to find an activity for your child?  Dance classes are the perfect solution and are so much fun!  Register NOW for classes starting in January.  Annual registration fee is half price right now and monthly rates start at only $50 per month!  Classes start again on Wednesday, January 10!

Ballet & Tap (Ages 2 1/2-7 years)

Adult Watercolors (18 & older)

art-pallette.jpgClasses start back on Thursday, January 18!  If you are creative and need an outlet, this class is the perfect one for you!  Annette Lewis will lead you step-by-step through your very own masterpiece in each session.  Cost for First Time Students is only $25 and includes all your supplies.  After the first lesson, each class costs only $13.  Sign up for FOUR CLASSES and get a discount!  We regularly meet on the 1st & 3rd Thursdays of the month at 10:30 am in the South Campus Room 242, but please note we will not begin classes again until January 18.

Did you know that the study of MUSIC can help improve students’ grades, can develop skills necessary in the workplace, can give children a means of self-expression and can even help a child’s sense of empathy?  It’s never too late in the year to start private music lessons.  We have year-round registration. 

Our professional, experienced teachers are all background checked and Safe Sanctuary certified annually. Lessons typically cost $22-25 per half hour and are done weekly. This family-friendly group is open to all of those interested in performing, directing, helping out backstage, sponsoring and all the other things that go along with Community Theatre!  We perform revues and musicals at different times of the year.
