Due West is partnered with Love in the Streets Ministry. This is a ministry based in San Jose, serving at-risk school age and teen age youth. The ministry is composed of two parts;

Part 1- serving the children and youth within the San Jose area through the Discipleship program in downtown San Jose

Part 2- Involves working directly with the staff and youth in the boys and girls camps outside San Jose, assisting in projects, community outreach and evangelism.

Sonja and Edwin began Love in the Streets Ministry when Sonja, living in San Jose, was commuting to and from her job every day. She noticed the increasing number of children and youth living on the streets. Her heart was overwhelmed and she prayed every day for a year, for God to show her how He wanted her to serve these children and youth in need. God spoke to her , that she was to be providing a safe environment for these children, teach them the work of God and help develop skills and talents that would enable these youth to prosper. After a year, Sonja quit her job full time to answer God’s call and opened a safe house for the children in San Jose.

Over the past few years, their ministry has grown. Today they serve approximately 200 children and youth in week in San Jose and provide full living support for youth from vulnerable and desperate situations.
