Welcome to Due West United Methodist Church Recreation Ministry. Our mission is to reach the youth of our community for Christ through athletics. Experiencing the joy of being part of a team, the children are offered a positive, supportive, non-competitive environment in which they can play and learn more about their sport! The teams are coached by carefully selected adults who invest their time, gifts and abilities to bring Christ to the children on the field.

The Recreation Ministry will offer several programs including soccer (indoor & outdoor), flag football and cheerleading. We also offer programs for adults. Email Mark with any suggestions, comments or questions.

The Recreation Ministry needs volunteers in many different capacities. Please Email Mark or Email Joyia Buckelew if you want to get involved. 

Sports Schedule:

Fall (August - October): Flag Football / Cheerleading
Winter (November - February): Indoor Soccer
Spring (March - May): Outdoor Soccer

Our Indoor Soccer season has begun and will continue until February 12 when we will have our Awards Celebration. If you have any questions about our Indoor Soccer program, please Email Joyia Buckelew

Outdoor Soccer Spring 2012

We are now registering for our new season of Outdoor Soccer. We have divisions for children age 3 through 7th grade. Registration forms will be accepted January 1 through March 1. Early registration runs through February 19 with a cost of $100, afterwards the cost increases to $120. Shorts are optional at an additional cost of $15. If your child played indoor soccer and can re-use their uniform there is a $15 discount. Head coaches children receive a discount of 1/2 off the registration fee. Evaluations for players kindergarten and up will be held on Sunday, February 26 between 2:00 and 3:00 pm. If your child is a preschooler or played indoor soccer, they do not have to attend evaluations. Practices begin the week of March 12 with the first game on March 24. Our season will conclude on May 20 with the Award Celebration. Please Email Joyia Buckelew with questions.

Challenger British Soccer Camp

REGiSTRATION HAS BEGUN!!

Due West UMC will again be hosting the Challenger British Soccer Camp. Camp will take place June 25 - 29, 2012 on the greenspace. There are a variety of camp options that can be viewed on the Challenger website. You can register for camp online at www.challengersports.com.

8:15 am YOGA FROM A CHRISTIAN PERSPECTIVE in the South Campus Sanctuary
9:30 am ADULT EXERCISE BOOTCAMP (Cardio Strength in group fitness format) in the South Campus Sanctuary

Bring your friend and neighbors. All fitness levels are welcome. No previous experience is required. Wear comfortable clothing (layers are helpful). Bring a yoga mat or towel and an old tie or belt (yoga). A $3 donation is requested for the class; nursery is included.
